I take lots of photos. I shoot video with my Canon 5D Mark II. I'll post it all here.

All the attractions of Cleveland, brought to you by the Tourism Bureau of Cleveland. Hilarious video.

And... Kiran pointed me to the second attempt:

At BMW mountain view with aki. He's buying a SWEET BMW 335i. Auto perfection

I love hangout out at the BMW dealership (really). So many great cars out right now. 335i, 135i, M coupe...

Aki picked up a fully loaded, dark blue 335i, manual, coupe. The perfect car. Sweet iPod integration, bluetooth built in, everything. It's the next generation of my car.

BMW service is... walking into the dealership, asking them to wash my car... and having a sparkling ride 10 minutes later. *results not typical

La Provence offers great french food in the mission, lacks ambiance

We went to dinner at La Provence on Sunday with Kate's parents, to celebrate our birthdays. We'd heard and read good things about La Provence, so our hopes were high. Walking in we were a bit shocked by how casual the place was. I guess it's a San Francisco thing, in New York it would have been much fancier.

The restaurant was fairly plain, the service was slow, you don't come here for the ambience.

The food was perfect. Everything we had was delicious.

What really surprised me was the great wine list. We walked in with our own bottle of wine, a phenomenal bottle of Peju Cabernet Franc we just purchased in Napa. The corkage fee was $20, which seemed high for such a casual spot. However, if you order a second bottle, the fee is waived.

We also ordered a $35 bottle of Syrah that was recommended to us. I think it was the best $35 bottle I've ever had at a restaurant.

I'm looking forward to eating here more often. It's not a fancy place. But if/when we live closer to the restaurant, I can see it becoming a normal weekday dinner destination for us.

Another successful trip to Napa, with Kate's parents

We are becoming Napa regulars. Kate's parents were in town for her birthday so we did a quick day trip to taste some wine. Driving up we hit a bunch of traffic so we were worried that Napa would be packed. It was a gorgeous 85 degree day after all. But between drivers peeling off to go to the amusement park in Vallejo, heading to Sonoma, and going to the touristy venues within Napa, we were able to visit our favorite wineries with no crowds.

Since most people go to taste wine, get drunk, and don't buy anything, the wineries are forced to charge tasting fees and push people through as fast as possible. In particular, the larger vineyards have tailored their facilities for tourists. They have paved parking lots, high tasting fees, large productions, rehearsed tours, and no personal attention.

In contrast, every vineyard we went to was fairly empty. They all do small productions which always sold out. They all had a posted tasting fee, which was easily waived with a bit of schmoozing. We tasted a TON of wine (I believe 20 tastings at just 3 vineyards, in just a few hours) and didn't pay anything for them. The people working at the counter were always incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and not the least bit snobby. It was perfect.

On this trip we went to Cosentino, Peju, and Hagafen. Combine that with an incredible lunch at Mustard's... I had an ahi tuna sandwich which was the largest block of tuna i've ever had. With fresh ginger and other spices, it was great.

Kate and I have already been to Napa 3 times together. It's the same distance from SF to Napa as it is to Cupertino, a drive I did everyday when I worked at Apple.

I know we'll be going back often. It's one of our favorite places in the world.

iPhone market share doubles to more than 10% - Why buy a Palm Pre before seeing the new iPhone?

Palm Pre touchscreen phone scheduled to go on sale from Sprint on the Saturday, June 6th. The launch date seems to be timed to lock down buyers and buzz over the final weekend before Apple’s big developer conference begins the following Monday, possibly with the announcement of an upgraded iPhone.

what idiots are going to buy a Palm Pre just days before a new iPhone could be announced?

I own Palm stock. I've played with a Palm Pre. I have high hopes for the product (most likely as a strong #2 to the iphone). But seriously, stuff like this makes me upset. I hope no one buys a Palm Pre until after the iPhone announcement.

I know this won't happen, but what if the new iPhone is $99, $20 per month, and has a keyboard? Those Pre preorders will seem pretty stupid.

Be a smarter consumer: wait until after WWDC to buy a Pre
